Game Review : "The Handy Man"

"The Handy Man"

A game review by Barbara Jane Junio

The game company called Game Kingdom's other game is called "The Handy Man" was produced by Joshua Medrano. His mechanic is Auction and Bidding, it is a game of strategy. They need to buy materials to fulfill their goals.

The game "The Handy Man" is not organized because the maker can't explain his game well, the game was exciting and fun, if you know how to manage your money. You need to buy materials that are included in the game but if  you win you earned 1 token and 300.00. The money increases every round and you cant buy those materials that are present in the first round if you are the winner and it is a routine game.

This game has too many components but this game was enjoyable. The components are: Card for materials and the number of tokens. The game needs more Arts.

I think the game needs more improvement based on my experience. I suggest to have a good picture or design of tokens and the cards is fine. It is great if you get interested with the game and  I played it so many times as I can jut to find out if it's working.

His game was working and I think this game needs more improvement to make it more Beautiful and well organize.

Game Review : "Hunters Collide"

"Hunters Collide"

A game review by Barbara Jane Junio

A game called "Hunters Collide" that was produced by Ira Angeline Dela Cruz from the company called "Game Kingdom". It is about companies of Diamond Hunters who are fighting each other to conquer the Diamond Industry in Africa. But conquering it is not an easy task, a lot of diamond hunters like you are aiming for it too.

It is a 'Push you luck' and Auction game. It was inspired by the game called "King of Tokyo". At the beginning of the game the map of Africa is drawn and at the center of it is the Diamond Industry. Only one player can stay in Africa at a time and then you earn Victory Points for staying in Africa.

Before the game begins, each player has to choose which character they want from the 6 Diamond Hunter Boards. The Diamond hunter boards have carton tokens that represent each character by using the board. The players can monitor their attacks and defenses. Their turns depends on the character they choose at the beginning of the game.

The players start their attacks to 12 and their defenses to 18. Each of them has 10 lives. If you want to attack, he or she needs to roll a dice or choose a bidding card. The attack can affect if his/her attack is greater than the defenses of opponents and if you attack the adjacent player toward you their life and defense will decrease.

You can choose any places you want so that their players can attack you. If you decided to stay at Africa your opponents can attack you and your defense and life will decrease but you can earn 1 Victory point in the first round and on the next round you can earn 2 victory points. As long as you stay in Africa, You will earn Victory Points.

The components of the game are 10 Bidding cards, 50 Action Point cards, 6 Diamond Hunter role playing cards, 6 Character tokens, a dice and the Africa Board. I enjoyed playing Ira's game. It was fun and it enhances your capability in Analyzing things.

Game Review : "Hunters Collide"

"Hunters Collide"

A game review by Majime Domingo

A game of luck and probability. A game called "Hunters Collide", another amazing product of Game Kingdom.

"Hunters Collide" is a game produced by Ira Dela Cruz who belongs to the company called Game Kingdom. A 'Push your Luck' game that was inspired by 'King of Tokyo'. I played this game a lot of times already and it never fails to amaze me. The mechanics was really thought through.

"Hunters Collide" is a game about Diamond Hunters that wants to take over the main Diamond Industry in Africa. Along with it., they will encounter different Diamond hunters that has the same goal. The more victory points you get from staying in Africa, the more chances for you to win.

The game starts with players from three to six to choose which character they'd want to play. After picking a character and they must set the attack at 12 and the defense at 18 because that's the starting point of every player. Each player card comes with a character token that they get to place on the Africa Board. Turns depends on the character they choose. All the players can attack whoever is in the center of the board. Also the other players can attack whoever is adjacent to them. On the other hand, the one on the middle can attack everyone. The more you stay on the middle, the more victory points you earn. Your attack and defense depends on what number will come out when you roll the dice. You can't attack a player that has a higher defense than your attack. Tip? Keep enhancing your attack and defense first so that after a lot of rounds, you can stay in the middle and a lot of the other players cant attack you. You'll earn more victory points that way. The player that has the most victory point wins.

"Hunters Collide" is a very good game if you like math, probabilities and luck. It's artistically made by Ira which is awesome. Thumbs up for Game Kingdom for another amazing game!

Game Review : "The Handy Man"

"The Handy Man"

A game review by Majime Domingo

Game Kingdom's other game called 'The Handy Man' was produced alone by Joshua Medrano. A game of Auction and Bidding. A game of strategy to fulfill a Businessman's dream.

The game "The Handy Man" is a little confusing but it's fun once you get the hang of it. It's also a game of math and conserving money for the next round. "The Handy Man" is confusing when it comes to the mechanics. I'm not sure if the rules aren't clear of the Banker is really confusing. Another flaw of the game is that a player should be a "Banker". Other than that the game works perfectly.

The starts with the Banker giving out 300 tokens to the players. Those are their starting money. They use those money to buy the materials later on to build the floor. Each floor has a three material requirement. After placing out the requirements, the players may now decide to buy the materials now or save their money for later. If the players decided to buy the same items, the materials would cost more. When you obtain the requirements for the floor, you win the round but its not done there. Each floor you obtain has an allotted money you can get and use for the next round. Before the next round starts, player's are allowed to buy the materials they think they'll need for the next floor except for the materials the previous floor needed. The one who got the floor isn't allowed to buy materials after the round. The player that has the most floor obtained wins.

Yes this game has too many components. The Cards for the materials and the floor requirements are fine but the number of money tokens are too much. I think this game would be better if there was a board that goes with it. A board designed that has exactly everything in it to diminish the number of components the game has. Art is also important. The more exciting the game looks, the more people would like to play it even if the components are too much.

"The Handy Man" may be a little confusing but it's really enjoyable. If you like games with Auction and Bidding you should try playing this one.

Game Review : "Road War"

"Road War"

A game review by Majime Domingo

The PBDM's company made an excellent game called "Road War". Produced by Renzo Bautista and Justine Diaz. A game of Action Point Allowance and Area Control. A game of strategy to acquire the opponent's Palace.

The game Road War is a two player game only which is sad because it's a little exciting. The maker's should have made a game that can allow a lot of players to play. It's still a good game though. This game requires a lot of strategy which is really good for a two player board game. From the experience of playing it, you'll know that the game makers really thought this game through before producing it.

Before the game starts, each player receives different road tiles and tokens before the game begins. Each player has a token for the tank and general and has 2 tokens for the soldiers. The Road tiles that are given to each player are: 8 "L" shaped, 3 "T" shaped, 3 "+" shaped, 4 straight and 3 building tiles.

At the start of the game the players has to build roads in order for them to acquire the opponent's palace. The buildings are 'blockage' the players can build on their base or the other player's base to protect their base or to interrupt the other player's road construction. If they want to get another bullet for the tank, they have to go back to their base. If you succeeded on obtaining the enemy's palace, you win the game.

This game is nerve wracking. It's exciting and you should be smart for this one. It's a little hard though but a good game is challenging. Just add a little sprinkle of art and this game would be even more exciting. Congratulations to PBMD for a job well done!

Game Review: "Road War"

  "Road War"

A game review by  Dexter Pagaduan

Every game has its own design and mechanics that'll make players to believe that this game is attractive and fun. A game that overcomes boredom making people to think and at the same time having a terrific enjoyment.

A game called the Road War is a bit of a unique game it has simple mechanics. A two player game, which every player needs to think critically for them to defeat each's General, The General must be placed in the Middle which is called the Palace but to do that they need to place the different ways of road that each player has, for the General to get in the Palace.

The Generals are not the only tokens that can be moved on the game, there are also Tanks that can help the General to destroy the building that was putted in his way, the Soldiers that could help the General they could be an offence or defence.

If one of the Generals stayed at the Palace for three rounds the player who owns that General wins but if its killed the player who killed the General wins, so which means you can win the game either staying in the Palace or kill each other.

This game really works! I would like to invite you guys to know more about this game.
